Mobil-O-Graph 24h PWA Monitor®
When it comes to diagnostics and risk stratification, increasing attention is being given to the investigation of arterial stiffness. By enabling the arteries to be monitored at the same time as the blood pressure, the The Mobil-O-Graph® 24h with Pulse Wave Analysis (PWA) is a significant tool to both physician and patient.
Also the same measurements allow the analysis of other vital parameters relating to hemodynamics and arterial stiffness.
Arterial Stiffness is an independent and distinct “biomarker” of vascular health that is prognostic for cardiovascular risk.
Arterial Stiffness is quantified via the aortic pulse wave velocity (PWV). The stiffer the aorta, the higher the PWV.
Analysis of the pulse wave provides various parameters. In addition to aortic pulse wave velocity, it provides such parameters as augmentation index (AI), a measure of the contribution of the reflected wave to the amplitude of the central pulse pressure.
These parameters provide predictive values associated with risk of heart attack and stroke.
Vascular age is the apparent age of the blood vessels, particularly the arteries when compared to what is normal for the healthy population. Vascular age is affected by genetic predisposition, lifestyle choices and other factors.
A person whose vascular age is older than his or her chronological age may be at increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease later in life.
Mobil-O-Graph® 24h PWA Monitor measures:
- Aortic Pressure affecting the internal organs
- Augmentation Index (AI)
- True Mean Arterial Pressure
- View Pulse Wave Anomalies and changes in the blood flow patterns
