EuroMedix: a company that means more than just business
A warm heart for children
Complimentary to its core business of developing and implementing a range of innovative POC health concepts and programmes, EuroMedix is especially proud to partner with organisations with a focus on infants, children and youth:
- Healthy diet programmes for infants, children and the mothers
EuroMedix has been a partner for 10 years with avomed (Arbeitskreis für Vorsorgemedizin und Gesundheitsförderung in Tirol), the working group for preventive medicine and health promotion in Tirol. Two programmes in particular address the health and wellbeing needs of children: “Richtig essen von Anfang an”: workshops promoting a healthy diet in infants and helping mothers meet their developing babies’ nutritional needs, and “Genussvoll essen im Kindergarten”: learning early that healthy eating can also be enjoyable. - Helping young athletes develop
EuroMedix is a partner of Belgian premier league basketball team the Leuven Bears. The Bears have one of the best youth programmes in the sport: not only is it the leading source of players who move up to the Belgian National Basketball Team, its youth programmes contain a specific focus on personal and social skills and development. Two such programmes in particular (Bears on wheels, Junior Bears on wheels) address the needs of wheelchair athletes and children with other disabilities. - Building body and mind
EuroMedix is also proud to contribute to local initiatives such as its partnership with the Herent football team KFC Herent. In addition to a technical, tactical and physical education, KFC Herent’s youth programme emphasises respect, discipline, commitment, friendship and fair-play. The programme’s aim: introducing the centuries-old idea of “a healthy mind in a healthy body” at an early stage of life through sport! - Attention to wellbeing for the seriously ill
EuroMedix is partner with Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital, part of the University Medical Center Utrecht. In this paediatric centre of excellence, seriously ill children from all over the Netherlands are given the best possible care, with an emphasis on the wellbeing of the children in dealing with their illnesses. - Helping overweight and obese teenagers
EuroMedix & Bodystat Ltd. partnered with VU University Medical Center Amsterdam in the "Go4it" project, a programme with proven succes in improving the BMIsds and quality of life in overweight and obese teenagers in the Netherlands. Programme components included self-awareness of existing habits, improving diet, increased activity, as well as monitoring progress and setting achievable goals using BIA (Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis).
EuroMedix CEO Mario Vanolst: “Children are our future, and EuroMedix has made a deliberate choice to invest in and partner with a number of organisations that promote health and wellbeing in children and youth. We take a personal interest in these organisations and their goals, and work with them to make a difference.”
